The Dubai-based carrier was also recognised for its service innovations and workforce strategy, reflecting its continued focus on expanding capabilities and enhancing the passenger experience. The awards were presented during the annual ceremony attended by key stakeholders from the travel and aviation sectors.

flydubai received the “Trailblazer Award for Outstanding New Service Launch” for its latest customer-focused developments, including the introduction of a dedicated Business Class check-in experience, Business Lounge facilities, cabin retrofit programme and onboard enhancements. The carrier also won the “Best Airline Talent Development & Workforce Strategy” award for its investment in training infrastructure and employee development initiatives.

The awards were accepted on behalf of flydubai by Francois Oberholzer, Chief Financial Officer at flydubai; Ramesh Anantharaman, Divisional Senior Vice President of Revenue Management & Business Effectiveness; Mohamed Hassan, Senior Vice President of Airport Services & Cargo; and Munawur Alhaj, Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition.

The recognition follows a period of significant investment across the airline’s operations, product offering and internal capabilities. flydubai highlighted its efforts to improve connectivity, strengthen its workforce and deliver a more convenient travel journey for customers across its growing network.

Commenting on the achievements, Francois Oberholzer said the airline was pleased to receive recognition for its continued investment in people and products. He noted that in 2025, flydubai introduced several improvements across Business and Economy Class, with upgrades designed to enhance comfort and convenience throughout the customer journey.

The carrier also continued expanding its recruitment, training and inhouse capabilities as part of its long-term growth strategy. Oberholzer said recent aircraft orders announced at the Dubai Airshow 2025 position flydubai for its next phase of expansion as the airline grows its fleet and network.

Growth plans

flydubai has expanded its internal training capabilities with the launch of its Ab Initio Pilot Training (MPL) programme, Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Apprenticeship, and leadership development initiatives. The airline also announced the groundbreaking of its Aircraft Maintenance Centre at Dubai South, supporting its future operational requirements.

Customer experience upgrades have also included the refurbishment and launch of new Travel Shops in Deira and Sharjah, alongside improvements to the Economy Class experience. The airline has further announced Starlink as its inflight connectivity partner, bringing complimentary high-speed onboard WiFi across its fleet.

With a network covering more than 100 destinations and a young fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, flydubai continues to expand its role in regional aviation.
